Dani & Cassie’s Portland Picnic and Brewery Elopement

Cassie + Dani are from NYC but they loooove Portland! They love Portland so much they decided to get married here in a small elopement. Now, looking through these photos you might think “oh, this was definitely a styled shoot. Nobody has a real wedding this beautiful” You would be wrong.

We started off getting ready over at Portland Kimpton Hotel Monaco which had amazing details and style. Then we popped over to Cathedral Park for the ceremony under the iconic bridge arches led by one of my most favorite officiants Steve Sharp with A Beautiful Ceremony. It was a warm, sunny late fall day and it was made even more special with a breathtakingly magical picnic styled and prepared by wife team Katy & Autumn of Foxglove Events. If ever you had hesitation about letting go and leaving parts of your wedding day in the hands of professionals just take a look at what you get when you let babes like Katy and Autumn run wild with their imagination and create the most stunningly perfect, Portland picnic. For reals, ya’ll, it was so amazing it brought tears the brides’ eyes (and that, of course, brought tears to mine, cuz I’m a sap like that).

After getting married and having some (to DIE for) Pink Champagne cake by a personal favorite baker of mine, Rosy CakesΒ  we stopped by the Wishing Tree on Williams Ave. to leave some wishes to the universe. Thousands of people have come to the wishing tree to leave notes and it’s a really beautiful and heart warming spot that I didn’t even know about until C + D told me they wanted to go there!

Following that, what better place to stop on a beer lover’s Portland wedding day tour than Modern Times’ Belmont Fermentorium? This place is decked out with super rad 80’s decor and, what I’m going to go ahead and proclaim as, the largest piΓ±ata of Macho Man Randy Savage in the known universe. Only their beer is more awesome, in my humble opinion, especially if you’re a fan of hazy IPAs or experimental brews.

I’m so fucking grateful to have spent the day exploring my city through the eyes of these absolutely enchanting women who prove that, regardless of what assumptions you might come to browsing through Pinterest, not only do black lesbians get married, they do it fucking right!
