Aimee + Garin’s Oaks Pioneer Church & Wine Bar Wedding

I love a big party; but there is something very, very intriguing to me about the idea of a happy hour wedding. And really, in a city like Portland that has perfected the notion of the happy hour, you really couldn’t get married in a more quintessentially PNW fashion. From the first time we talked, Aimee and Garin mentioned they expected it to rain even though we’d seen like 3 rain drops since last March, but we weren’t disappointed. We got dramatic dark cloudy skies and a peek of sun followed by gusts of wind that made for some hilarious veil antics and, of course, torrential downpour. Most sane people would look at their photographer like an insane asylum escapee and politely say “no thanks” when said photographer gleefully yells at them to grab an umbrella and follow them out into the driving wind and rain for one last photo. But lucky for me, these two are as crazy adventurous as I am and followed me out into the wall of water falling from the sky for a pretty great image to end a really awesome day. Enjoy!
